The K-5 galley system is designed to distribute wet chemical fire suppressant through a single nozzle located directly above a deep fat fryer. The system protects fryers with a maximum pan dimension of 564 x 500 x 340mm and has been tested in accordance with the requirements of International Standard ISO 15371:2000(E)
The K-5 system is a fully independent system, they are electrically actuated and use spot heat detectors to detect fire conditions. The detectors are placed directly over the appliance being protected or in the extract air flow above that appliance. The cooking appliances can be individually protected or multiple systems can be configured to suit the demands of any Galley.
